Recently Tribune has exposed the vast empire of the Badal
family. My response to the exposure has been published by the Tribune today (2-5-2014)
under the heading “Clear doubts, Mr.
Badal” I am sharing the letter I had written to the Tribune.
Dear Editor
The Tribune Chandigarh.
Hats
off to you for exposing the vast empire of the Badal family. Tribune has raised
the level of journalism by exposing the vast empire of so humble looking rulers
of Punjab - the Badal Family. It will not only restore the faith of public in
Media but also inspire other journalists and editors.
I
learnt from a senior journalist of Tribune (Sh. Swaraj Chouhan) long back, that
the actual job of a journalist is to expose the truth of ruler’s misdeeds by
walking in the corridors of power and not getting sucked by seats of power and
start singing the tunes of rulers.
This
will also help the Badal family whose image in the social media has been
created as if they have looted the whole state. They should use this exposure
as a platform to clarify the doubts in the minds of people regarding their
share in Bread .(there was a big rumor in the State when a leading Bread
Company raised their price by 4 rupees per Bread, that 2 rupees per bread are
going to the Baal family) .and other rumors.
As
rulers will never issue press statements regarding their loot , So it will
always remain the duty of dare devil Journalists to investigate and expose the
rulers , helping both the rulers, aam adami and state by clearing the picture,
which otherwise on social media and word of mouth paints very low character of
our rulers
